List of Hosta Societies

List of Hosta Societies - Several countries all over the world have their own Hosta Society.

Hosta societies are non-profit educational organizations primarily formd for the purpose of educating people and promoting knowledge related to hosta.

They organize shows to introduce the genus hosta to the general people in order to promote the development of latest and enhanced hosta varieties and also to promote cultivation as well as the usefulness of the hostas in landscape

The leaves of the Hosta are put to display in vases. These are judged and recognized by The American Hosta Society.

They also hold regular meetings that involve specialized speakers.

They provide several membership benefits like offering special sales and discounts and supplying periodicals to promote knowledge and encourage more and more memberships.

In Indiana there is Hosta and Friends of Northwest Indiana , Indianapolis Hosta Society of Indianapolis , South Indiana Daff, Hosta, Daylily and Iris Society of Bloomington and Limestone Daylily & Hosta Society of Bloomington.

In Iowa there is Dubuque Regional Hosta Society in Dubuque, Mississippi Valley Hosta Society at Davenport, Harshbarger Hosta Society in East Centrol Iowa and Russ O’Harra Hosta Society at Des Moines .

At Kansas there is Heartland Hosta and Shade Plant Society Kansas City, MO & KS and Wichita Hosta Society of Wichita.

In Kentucky there is Hostas of Kentuckiana at Louisville, Greater Cincinnati Daylily-Hosta Society in Cincinnati, OH , and Hosta Society of Greater in Cincinnati, OH.

Maine has Hosta Society Southern to Central Maine, Southern Maine Daylily and Hosta Society Southern Maine and New Hampshire.
