*Sum and Substance - has been voted the Hosta of the Year before and will grow to six feet wide. The leaves are heavy and waxy; due to this they may look shiny. *Dream Weaver - this is an interesting hosta with two tones leaves. The leaves are a blue to blueish green with a section of yellow right down the middle. The leaves are thick and they are actually very resistant to slugs and other garden creatures. It will look white flowers during the summer. It does need partial shade and good watering conditions. They will grow to two feet tall and two to three feet across.
*Earth Angel - these leaves are very large and heart shaped. These are also two toned hosta plants that are a blue green color and have a yellow border at first that later turns more whit during the spring on them, around the edges. These bloom white flowers that can grow to four feet tall. They do require a lot of room and plenty of shade to grow.
*Lakeside Shore Master – It is a two toned hosta plant. These are a very deep blue green, in some lighting may even look almost black in color. There is a streak of yellow down the center and the texture is ruff and puckered. These taken longer to grow to their full maturity and you will need to be patient for them to become an amazing hosta plant. Their flowers grow to almost two feet and are lavender in color. They do get to almost two feet tall and three feet wide, however they are very easy to grow and work well in many soil conditions and climates.
*Orange Marmalade - this is a very interesting hosta plant because it actually changes color throughout the season. It will start out as green in the center with a dark green edge, then as time goes on the center will turn yellow and then at the end of the season the center turns white. Each year the hosta plant will grow larger and they require very little maintenance, however they do need to be in the shade or at the very least have partial shade.
Even though many of these giant hosta plants sound similar, you will find that each is very distinctive and different from one another. Though the colors and textures may be the same, the leaf shape and size varies along with how they grow or how they develop in a garden. Giant hostas are a wonderful addition to any garden and work well with other hosta variations.
